How to make your signature transparent
- Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, a bit bigger than usual.
- Take a photo from straight above in good light, or scan it.
- Add it here: the background is removed and the ink is made solid automatically. Adjust sensitivity if lines look too thin or too thick.
- Download the PNG and insert it into your document, PDF editor or email signature.
What the tool fixes
- Shadows and uneven light: the paper brightness is measured across the photo, so a darker corner doesn’t turn into a grey blob.
- Grey, patchy ink: strokes are made one solid colour (black, dark blue, original or any colour) with smooth edges.
- Dust and paper texture: small specks are removed, while dots on i’s and j’s are kept.
- Extra space: the image is cropped to the signature with a small margin and resized to the width you choose.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get the best result?
Sign with a dark pen (black or blue gel or felt-tip) on plain white paper, make the signature larger than usual, and photograph it in daylight from straight above without your shadow on the page.
Why is the background transparent?
A transparent PNG has no white box around it, so it sits naturally on top of lines and coloured backgrounds in documents and PDFs.
The form needs a JPG with a white background. Can I make that?
Yes: choose “White (JPG)” as the background. If the form also needs a file size in KB, use increase image size in KB afterwards.
Parts of my signature disappear. What can I do?
Move the sensitivity slider to the right (bolder) and set “Remove specks” to Small or Off.
Are my signatures uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your signatures never leave your device.
